This policy explains what Doubao English collects when you visit this website, why, and what choices you have. It covers this site only — doubao-english.com. It does not describe what the Doubao app or ByteDance do with your data; for that, read the operator’s own policy, and see our article on whether Doubao is safe for our reading of it.

The short version
We do not ask you to create an account, we do not run a newsletter, and comments are switched off site-wide, so there is no form here that collects your name or email. What data does get collected comes from two places: ordinary web-server logs, and third-party advertising.
Server logs
Like almost every website, our host records a log entry for each request: IP address, timestamp, the URL requested, the referring page, and your browser’s user-agent string. These logs are used for security, abuse prevention and diagnosing errors. They are not used to build a profile of you, and they are rotated and deleted by the host on a routine schedule.
Cookies and similar technologies
The site itself sets very little. WordPress may set a cookie if you leave a comment (you cannot — comments are closed) or if you log in as an administrator, which applies to us and not to you. Our page-caching layer and our CDN may set functional cookies or tokens used for security and performance.
Two of our interactive tools — the availability checker and the comparison table — run entirely in your browser. They make no network requests, send nothing to us or to anyone else, and store nothing about you.
Advertising
This site displays advertising, and we intend to serve it through Google AdSense. Advertising is how the site is funded. When ads are running, the following applies.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this and/or other sites on the internet.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info or youronlinechoices.com.
- Ad vendors may collect an identifier, approximate location, device and browser information, and pages viewed, in order to select and measure ads.
We do not receive your personal data from advertising partners. We see aggregate reporting only — impressions, clicks and revenue.
Analytics
We use search-console and aggregate traffic reporting to understand which articles are useful. Where an analytics tool is used, it reports in aggregate and is not used to identify individual readers.
Links to other sites
We link to primary sources, official app-store listings and company documentation. Once you follow a link you are on someone else’s site under someone else’s policy, and we have no control over what they collect. We never link to third-party APK mirrors or unofficial download hosts.
Your rights
Depending on where you live — for example under the GDPR in the EU and UK, or the CCPA/CPRA in California — you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data held about you, and to object to certain processing. Because we hold almost nothing beyond server logs, in most cases there is little for us to return or delete, but you are welcome to ask. Requests about advertising identifiers are usually best directed to the ad vendor, whose opt-out links are above.
Write to [email protected] and describe what you are asking for.
Children
This site is written for a general adult audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the site handles data — most likely when advertising goes live or an analytics tool changes — we will update this page and the date at the top. Material changes will be noted in the text rather than made silently.
