Doubao English is an independent publication. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by ByteDance Ltd. Doubao is a trademark of its respective owner; the name is used for identification and review purposes only.
That sentence appears at the foot of every page on this site, and this page explains what stands behind it.

We are not Doubao, and we cannot act for Doubao
This is not an official Doubao website, help centre, download page or support channel. We have no commercial relationship with ByteDance, receive no funding or early access from the company, and have no ability to influence the product. We cannot access, recover, unlock, refund or close any Doubao account, we cannot see your conversations, and we cannot escalate a moderation decision or a billing problem. If you need any of those things, contact the operator through the app itself.
We use the name “Doubao” because that is the name of the product we write about. Under ordinary principles of nominative fair use, referring to a product by its name in order to review and explain it does not imply any endorsement or connection, and none is implied here. Our site’s own name and logo are original and are designed deliberately to look nothing like Doubao’s branding.
Information, not advice
Everything here is general information and editorial opinion. It is not legal advice, security or compliance advice, financial advice, or professional advice of any kind. Whether a particular AI assistant is appropriate for your data, your employer’s policies or your jurisdiction is a decision that depends on facts we do not have, and it is yours to make — ideally after reading the operator’s own terms and privacy policy rather than our summary of them.
Accuracy has a shelf life
AI products change faster than almost any other category we could have chosen to cover. In a single quarter a model can be renamed, a feature can appear or disappear, prices can change, and a service can become available — or unavailable — in your country. We date our claims for exactly this reason, and we re-check the pages that matter most when something ships.
Even so: a page that was accurate at publication may be wrong today. Nothing on this site is guaranteed to be complete, current or error-free, and we accept no liability for loss arising from reliance on it. Always confirm anything that matters against the primary source we link to. If you find a mistake, tell us at [email protected] and we will correct it — our correction practice is set out in our editorial policy.
Downloads and access
When we describe how to obtain an app, we link only to official app-store listings and official websites. We do not link to APK mirrors, modified builds or unofficial download hosts, and we recommend against them: sideloaded builds of popular AI apps are a well-documented vector for malware and credential theft, and they receive no security updates.
We also do not publish methods for getting around regional restrictions, phone-number verification or platform terms of service. Where a service is genuinely unavailable in a country, we say so plainly rather than offering a workaround.
Advertising and external links
This site is funded by display advertising. Ads are selected by third-party networks, not by us, and their appearance next to an article is not an endorsement of the advertiser. Editorial decisions are made without reference to advertising, and no advertiser has ever been given review or approval rights over anything published here.
External links point to sources, not partners. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or their handling of your data.
Rights
All text and graphics here are original work. We do not reproduce Doubao’s logo, mascot or interface assets. If you believe material on this site infringes your rights, write to [email protected] with the specific URL and we will review it promptly.
